Biography

Anna Piechura-Gabryś Polish harpist and harp teacher in Warsaw, Poland. Since 1995 harpist of the Grand Theater — Polish National Opera, lecturer at the University of Music Fryderyk Chopin since 2017, harp teacher at the Secondary School of Music Complex named F.Chopin in Warsaw from 2021 and certified harp teacher at the School of Music Karol Kurpiński in Warsaw since 1993. From 2021, a consultant at the Polish Art Education Center.
She was graduated from the Academy of Music in Kraków, obtaining a diploma in honors. She has participated in numerous master classes led by eminent harpist professors: Susann McDonald, Kumiko Inoue, Helga Storck, Susann Mildonian, Erica Goodman.
Since 2011 Anna Piechura-Gabryś together with Anna Sikorzak-Olek, the originator and founder of the «Harp for Children» Association, has been running children’s harp ensemble Wiktorska Harp Open. The artist also participates in the implementation of educational programs and projects, such as: Concerts for Children organized by the National Philharmonic and Mornings Music taking place at the Grand Theater — National Opera.
She participated in the 1997 «Days of the Harp» Festival and the Polish-German Festival Harp Symposium 2002. As a lecturer, she participated in the Methodical Symposium for teachers in Wrocław (2015), Methodological Conference organized by CENSA (2016), 3rd Warsaw Harp Seminar at the F. Chopin University (2016)
She took part in the works of the jury during the National Harp Auditions in 2016 and the Harp Competition for Secondary Music Schools of the Art Education Center in 2017.
She has twice received the Second Degree Individual Award from the Director of the Center for Artistic Education (2015, 2019)
Since 2016, he systematically conducts Harp Master classes. Her students win prizes and are laureates International and National harp and Chamber competitions.
For many years she has been cooperating with Orchestras: National Philharmonic, Polish Radio, Sinfonia Varsovia, MACV Warsaw Chamber Opera, not only giving concerts with these ensembles, but also participating in recordings.
She has also collaborated with many other philharmonic and opera orchestras in Poland. In 2020, she was appointed to the jury of harpist auditions for the Sinfonia Juventus Orchestra
She had the honor of working with the most prominent and world famous conductors incl. Krzysztof Penderecki, Walerijem Giergijew, Chikara Imamura, Grzegorz Nowak, Jose Cura, Marc Minkowski, Carlo Montanaro, Stefan Soltesz, Patrick Fournillier.
She took part in prestigious festivals, including Easter Beethoven’s Festival, Warsaw Autumn, Folie Journee, Zone of Silence, XII Chain them. Witold Lutosławski, Chopin and His Europe, II Festival of I.J Paderewski.
In addition to orchestral and teaching activities, the artist performs as a soloist and a chamber musician.
