After learning violin with prof. Ciril Veronek at the Ljubljana Intermediate Music School, Tatjana Špragar continued her violin studies in Köln at the Städt Hochschulle für Music. She graduated in 1988 with prof. Gorjan Košuta.
While studying, she was recording for RTV of Slovenia and collaborating with several chamber orchestras from Germany. She has perfected her playing at numerous masterclasses in Slovenia and abroad. She was a member of the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Camerata Labacensis chamber orchestra from 19… to 19… . In 1990s she recorded several CDs with Musical Heritage of Slovenia. At the same time, she was also a violin teacher at Music school Ljubljana Vič – Rudnik.
Since 2009, she has been teaching violin at Conservatory of Music and Ballet Ljubljana. Her pupils have studied at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana and in many others European cities (in Klagenfurt and Graz, Austria; in Amsterdam, the Netherlands; in Berlin, Germany; in Brussels, Belgium) and have won numerous prizes at competitions in and outside Slovenia.
She has led master classes in Slovenia, Austria and Croatia. She has also been a member of international music juries.
